After registering a nickname with NickServ, you gain
access to ChanServ,
which allows you to register channels, as well as receive AOP
or SOP
status on channels.
To turn that setting on, type:
/NickServ SET NOOP ON
To turn that setting off, type: /NickServ SET NOOP OFF
